HP 9000 /800 F10

Got old beast just for fun.
Unable to get anything on any screen.
I dont not have a HP PS/2 console.
I do have WYSE50, PC running "reflection'
emulator package via RS232 port and
HP X console that also has serial port.
Tried various cable using pins 2,3 and 7
with 2 & 3 crossed, and 9600, 8/1/n
and 2400, 8/1/n and also tried no flow control
and then xon / xoff.
Looks like its going to the tip unless someone kind out ther can help.

Hi,

You need absolute a HP-Console. The system checks the existence of it.

Re: HP 9000 /800 F10

I finaly got myself an HP consol of the correct era I just don't have the cable DB25 to 6pin DIN and the RS232 settings. So if you can confirm the pin out and the settings I should be on the right track.

ASCII art doesn't survive multiple spaces so there are dots for spaces. Pinout for standard console cable (A1703-63003) is:

>.DIN.CONNECTOR..
>..FRONT.VIEW...DIN...25pin
>
>...2__1.........3.____.2
>..4____3
>...6||5.........4.____.3
>.....^
>.....|..........1.____.7
>....KEY

cut-n-paste this into vi or Notepad and things will line up.
