HP 9000 E 55 SUPPORTABILITY OF DDS 4 drive

Can any one tell, dds 4 dat drive is supported hp 9000 e55 / e45.

IF you can find one that is a FWD (Fast-Wide Differential/HVD SCSI) then that would be your best bet. The problem will likely be that with that old machine you will not be able to feed data to the drive fast enough to take advantage of its speed.

Be sure that you don't try to attach a LVD scsi drive to an HVD scsi interface. That won't work and you could damage the scsi hba and/or the drive.

If you have an LVD scsi drive, then that would work on a single-ended interface on the E boxes, but you really won't have much in the way of speed.

If I recall correctly, single-ended scsi is 5 or 10 MB per second and Fast-Wide Diff is 20 MB per second.
