HP A2874-66005 HSC Fast Wide SCSI card compatability
I have an A2874-66005 HSC Fast Wide SCSI card and I am wondering if it is compatible with L-1000 or RP5400 servers. All the HP documentation I've found said that this card will work in class A, D, and R class servers. It has not specifically said that it will not work with a L-1000 or RP54000 server.

Re: HP A2874-66005 HSC Fast Wide SCSI card compatability
Russell the FWD card for the L1000 and rp5400 series servers is part number A4800A PCI Single port FWD/HVD.
The older A2874-66005 card is used in workstations and isn't compatible with your server. The A4800A PCI FWD Cards can be bought from resellers or on ebay for as little as $25.00
If you are looking for a card with more ports you can use the A5159A Dual HVD/FWD SCSI PCI Card.
Hope this helps

Re: HP A2874-66005 HSC Fast Wide SCSI card compatability
Russell,
The card is completely uncompatible with the rp series/l1000.
The A2874-66005 (product number A4107A) is a HSC type interface for the servers you listed.
The RP's and L1000 only have PCI type interfaces. You would need an A4800A card if you want to add FWD to the newer systems. This is only supported on 11/11iv1 though not 11iv2
