Solutionsounds like you may have a faulty dimm or its not seated correctly.
where exactly does it stop and what is the error?
does it get to PDC and try and boot hpux or not that far
Check the errors in the gsp logs, this may tell you where the problem lies
if you can get the system to PDC check the memory here

post the last 3 or 4 gsp error logs if you can

A5840A 512MB High Density SyncDRAM Memory Module
A5841A 1GB High Density SyncDRAM Memory Module
A6114A 2GB High Density SyncDRAM Memory Module
You probably have a conflict mixing the A style memory with the L style memory. I would remove those A5797s and see if it does the same thing, if it does, get the recommended memory for your A400.

Agree to the above update #A5797 are meant for L2000.
If you are looking for a A400 Dimm then you need..
A5840-69101 (256MB DIMM)
