HP Fan Failure on RP2400- but which one?

My GSP log is showing me the following :

Now I understand that a fan has failed but which one? The machine has 4 fans attached to the power supply, one on the far left side of the machine behind the hard disks and obviously one above the CPU - but which one is fan 0?

The above code indicates that FAN 0 has failed. Please look into the service manual/ FAN connectors for FAN numbering.

Hi,

As per the chassis log , FAN0 has failed.
The fan is located right on the top of the CPU0.

Refer the following document which gives chassis code description for fan faults and a picture showing the fans locations.

hi lee,

fan0 and fan1 are both cpu fans/turbocoolers.

so you have from this code 0x002000646300405F fan0 failure on cpu0

this will need replacing, it is the one nearest the left looking from the front, or nearest the pci backplane.
