Re: HP N-class Fan Failure
Get that fan fixed and/or lower the air temperature where the N class is. My rule for any server any where is that inlet temperature should never be above 80 degrees F. When inlet temperatures climb to 85, I start shutting down systems. At 95 degrees, the system is likely to fail all by itself, so its better to do a controlled shutdown.
If you can't get the proper fan installed, just get standard floor fan (the more powerful the better) and force air through the front of the cabinet. This will usually suffice until the tech rep shows up.

Re: HP N-class Fan Failure
you should be able to see the status of all the fans and psu's in the gsp. i would be inclined to trust this first before stm. stm maybe just numbering them generally.
If your really cannot decide then just remove the covers one at atime on the server and check the led's green is ok and amber faulty. All the fans have them, just dont leave the covers off very long. If all fans are ok then you may have a problem with the power monitor board.

Re: HP N-class Fan Failure
Hello Manu,
As per the chassis codes, fan 0 has to be replaced ,which is located in front side on the left hand side, if viewed the server from front .
Thanks/regards,
Aliasgar.
