Hi all,

I know there was thread that tells the comparision between old and new models...like the new rp7410 server is the old N Class server etc.

I lost all of favorites. I dont know how? I try search, but no luck. Someone post me the correlation between old and new HP 9000 servers.

Hi Vijay,

A correction is needed - the rp7410 is NOT like the old N-class. The rp7430/50/70 systems ARE like the N-class.

The rp7405 & rp7410 systems are cell-based systems more like the rp8400 & SuperDomes.
Faster CPUs, more internal drive bays & ability to have 2 nPars (Hard Partitions) are among the things that set the 7405 & 7410 apart (and make them better IMO) from the N-class/rp7430/50/70 systems.

The rp7410 was designed to take the place of the N-class, much like the N4000 took the place in the pricing structure of the K-class.

They are completely different systems, the N4000 is now all but off the CPL. The N4000 became the rp7400 under the new naming scheme. The difference is that the rp7400 used 550-750MHz CPUs, while the N4000 used 360MHz to 550MHz CPUs.

There weren't any rp7430/50/70. (yet)

But the point still holds - An rp7410 or 7405 is *not* the same as an N-class/rp7400 because it's a cell-based system. And as such only 11iv1 is supported on it - NOT 11.0

Yes, the rp7410 is basically an rp8400 with half the cell boards. No relation at all to the rp7400, except that it took its place in HP's pricing structure.

rp7410 is called Mettahorn,and rp8400 is called Keystone,just complementarity:)

That would be Matterhorn - as in the mountain - that's the code name for rp7410.
