HP Support Modem constant TR light
I get no responce when trying to use the HP Support Modem on an N-class server. There is a constant TR light on the modem. I have tried blown away the modem setup in SAM and recreated it and tried to reset the modem through GSP (this fails). I have tried to reconfigure the modem settings in GSP. If I use ms to get the modem status it is in a constant configuring state. The server went through a reboot a week ago and this did not seem to make a difference. Any ideas?

Re: HP Support Modem constant TR light
Hi Gretchen,
I can give you some general hints (not sure what you did try up to now).
The GSP can directly use the modem to provide remote support login to the console.
The ER GSP command controlls this access. With newer GSP firmware there are three settings
"session" - The OS controlls the modem (login via SAM etc.)
"GSP" The GSP controlls the modem. Login via Modem should be possible indepentend of any SAM configuration or running OS.
"locked out" modem is disabled.
-make sure the modem is in session mode when you want to use SAM
-check modem cabling (connected to remote console port ?)
-what type of modem are you using ?
-is a getty running ?
-do you want to dial out or in ?
Best regards
