Re: HP T500

This is a very, very, very old system - much more than 10 years old now.

It can use HP-HSC, HP-PB and HP-IB cards.

No flavor of PCI at all!!!

The "rad..." commands are for online remove/add/replacement - this cannot be done on this OLD box!

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP T500

BTW, the T500 came out in 1993!

Time to get a newer server?

Hope this helps!

Re: HP T500

The easiest way to find free slots on this server is probably to physically look at it.

The T-series servers were architected differently from other servers. You could have expansion cabinets connected to the servers that could house the card types mentioned by Torsten, thus you could have LOTS of slots available.

I don't know if there is a single easy way to find those slots.

Also, the 'rad' software doesn't exist on 11.0 and I doubt the T would have supported it anyway.

Re: HP T500

Torsten - your memory may be better than mine, but I thought the only I/O slots supported in the T500 were HP-PB (HP-IB isn't an I/O slot standard). I didn't think the T500 supported HCS slots. I do recall *some* sort of HSC support but thought it was the T520 or T600.

Also, depending on the context, HP-PB may be called "NIO."

Re: HP T500

Rick, I'm sure about the NIO slots (HP-PB), but maybe HSC came with the later models T520 or T600 - all are old now and all have no PCI ...

I was still at university and had no clue about HP servers when this dinosaur (T-Rex?) came out.

Hope this helps!

Re: HP T500

Speak nicely of the beast :) When it came-out, it was one of the biggest, baddest boxes on the block. Never mind that today what one ran on it could probably be replaced performance-wise by a low-SKU BL860c i2 blade running HP 9000 containers :)
