HP-UX OS / Hardware Compatibility Matrix

Whatever happened to the compatibility matrix that told you which versions of the OS can be run on which hardware platforms?
That was useful, but I cannot find it any more.
Specifically, I need to know if HP-UX 11.00 can run on an rp7410 (don't tell me I should really be running 11i). Will that combination work (regardless of whether it is supported or not)?

Michael,

The best is to go to http://docs.hp.com, you go to the OS section (for instance, 11.0), and you look at the Installing and Updating section.
The HP-UX Install and Update Guide has a section "Supported systems". Look at the latest published guide.


As a matter of fact, in your case, rp7410 is NOT supported with 11.0, it started with 11i v1 (11.11).

Hi Michael,

I can think of one reason why rp7410 cannot run HP-UX 11.0. HP-UX 11.0 cannot understand the hardpartition and hence cannot handle this server.

There may be many other reasons. But this is what I could think of. Why are you asking for the support Matrix if you want to know regardless of support?

Well, yes it looks like 11.0 can work on rp7410. See for instance,

My reason for asking for the matrix as well as what will run regardless of support is that this was really two questions.
1) Where can I find the information that used to be in the matrix
2) Will this combination work (regardless of support)?
