HP server Console problem.

Hi,

We have HP rp2430 server but we are not able to take console.When we connect to server but we are not getting MP login prompt.Connections are ok.We have also reset the MP but same problem.
Please help me out to resolve this.

Hi,

it sounds like an HW issue with cable or port of the console connections.
Have you checked them?

Yes, i have tried with serial console too and check all the necessary connection but still same problem.

Hi Durvesh,

I am not sure how you did MP reset. You need to press few seconds and release the reset button to hard reset the MP.

If still it is not working, log a hardware case with HP to check and get it replaced.

As suggested, isolate the problem by checking if you've got the good Serial Cable to connect to Console Port.
Try reseting the GSP from the rear of the MAchine (a small button which is beside TOC button)

Note that there are two completely incompatible serial cables. If you are using a PC or a real terminal, you must use a crossover or null-modem cable. In the store, these are also called serial printer cables. Set the PC or terminal to 9600 baud, 8N1. You'll need to use the serial cable to set the IP address (and subnet, gateway, etc) for the LAN console connection.
