HP9000 D380/2 cannot boot! Please help!

Hello everybody!
I need urgent help with the following issue:

We have relocated an HP9000 D380/2 Server. The machine was not used for some time after a previous failure (HardDisk) and I have no technical documentation for it.
After cleaning the dust and power up, it stops before booting and displays the console screen with some warnings. After days of serching I could find no service manual for it (it seems it's too old) so this is my last resort.

I have attached a console capture with what I think is relevant info about the machine configuration, chasis codes, and errors.
It looks like the HW config info can't be written into stable storage, but I suspect that is not a eeprom HW problem.

I removed all the extension cards, but with no succes.

Did anybody had this kind of problem, or has any hints, documentation (Service Manual) or any ideeas?

Help will be greatly apreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Doesn't look good. The system doesn't remember it is a D-class (because it cannot read the stable storage). Setting defaults was a good idea, but unfortunately no good result. Looks like a bad board to me.
Try re-set the cpu card, dimms and cables; remove all I/O cards and try again.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP9000 D380/2 cannot boot! Please help!

Can you attach the PIM information?

I believe it is in the service menu at the BCH.
If at first you don't succeed, read the man page.

The first attachement is notepad (windows)plain text. I can read it from the forum page. Anyhow i'm reattaching it.

Your link indeed has some docs, but not the proper decoding of the LCD messages, wich I believe is in the service manual.

Re: HP9000 D380/2 cannot boot! Please help!

The meaning of the messages is the same like on your screen: can't read/write the stable storage. Don't know what I am.

Did you remove all cards and reseat the CPU board?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Yes, removed all the cards and the CPU card. No result.
What do you mean by re-setting the CPU card?
Removing-it and reinstalling, or there is a procedure fo reset?

Thanks.
