Hi Gurus,
I found one HPMC chassis code on my RP3440. This server is out of contract already and of course I cannot send to HP back end to analysis. Hopefully you guys can help me to interpret the code. The timestamp is on Jan 2010 and this server already rebooted on Aug 2011. My next question is why the reboot is not remove this HPMC code log?
Thanks in advance

HPMC is a hardware problem. A reboot typically won't fix it.

SolutionThe log you see is simply a copy from an area in firmware reserved for preserving certain register values that occur during the HPMC routine. A reboot would not and should not clear these as they are needed to diagnose the reason the HPMC occurred.
Since the HPMC occurred in January of 2010 I dont think you have to worry about this. To clear these logs do the following:
1) Reboot the server and interrupt the boot sequence.
2) From the Boot Console Handler access the Service Menu.
3) Run the CLEARPIM command. This will wipe that area of memory and clear the logs...at least until the next HPMC occurs.

Re: HPMC Chassis Code on RP3440
Thanks Robert and Dennis.
So how about the Chassis Code? Do you think it's because of the CPU or PCI Bus problem or something else?

These are from 2010, why worry about it now?

Re: HPMC Chassis Code on RP3440
I need to justify to my boss why the HPMC chassis code is still there.

The log contains a historical record of past failures. Robert mentioned how to clear it.

Which, the ones from Jan 2010?
You had a hardware error, High Priority Machine Check.
