Hardware RAID - internal 3440??

Can/how do you set up hardware raid 1 for internal drives of a RP3440.
Or do you have to use LVM?

You can upgrade the rp3440 with a smartarray sa640x controller and set up a hardware raid for the internal drives

or

use LVM mirroring.

Hope this helps!

Re: Hardware RAID - internal 3440??

hi,

to setup hardware raid you need raid controller like Torzten mentioned then you would use sautil and saconfig to set it up.

this depends upon whether you want them as boot drives or just data, as the procedure is different.

for data you would use something like this

#saconfig /dev/ciss6 â R 1 â S 64 â p 1:0 â p 1:2

once you have found out what your /dev/ciss number is and waht your disks are?

lots more info in the manual at docs.hp.com

or once we know if you have the SA controller and how you intend to use it we can help further
