your settings should be 9600, 8 bit , none , one.

apart from this no other setting is required & make sure u are conniecting to consol port only

Hi,
I doubt your cable may be not correct. What cable you have? Which port did you connect at D-Class server? Is it console port? Check that port is enabled in inittab. Kill the previously running getty on that port.

If Your D-Class has a GSP (Guardian Service Processor), the console get's switched over to this one before the PDH state, so You'd have to use the serial port on the GSP.

If there's none, the standard port and 9600/8/N/1 should do fine. Probably You also have to set the flow-control to XON/XOFF.

One other note - be sure to use a null modem cable

A null modem cable is also called a crossover cable and is absolutely necessary, otherwise you will have send connected to send and receive connected to receive.

Once you get the cable issue resolved,
you may find that you'd prefer to have
a terminal emulator that emulates an HP
terminal.

You can get a good, and free, HP terminal
emulator called "QCTerm" at
