How do I set time in the GSP?

I have an rp3440 with an invalid date in the GSP/LAN console. I see how to display the DATE, but not how to change it. Help!

Re: How do I set time in the GSP?

Hi,

please stop the boot process at the BCH and adjust the time settings in the configuration menu:

---- Main Menu ---------------------------------------------------------------

Command Description
------- -----------
BOot [PRI|ALT|] Boot from specified path
PAth [PRI|ALT] [] Display or modify a path
SEArch [DIsplay|IPL] [] Search for boot devices

COnfiguration menu Displays or sets boot values
INformation menu Displays hardware information
SERvice menu Displays service commands

DIsplay Redisplay the current menu
HElp [|] Display help for menu or command
RESET Restart the system
----
Main Menu: Enter command or menu > co ti

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Is that really the only way to do it? This is a production server than cannot easily e rebooted.

Re: How do I set time in the GSP?

YOU CAN ALSO PUSH
~CTRL B
~TYPE 'CM'- TO ENTER INTO THE COMMAND MENU
~AT THE CM> PROMPT TYPE 'HE LI' [IF IT TELLS YOU THAT IS INVALID THEN DO ONE COMMAND AT A TIME- HE (HELP) THEN LI (LIST)]
~IF YOU END UP IN THE 'HELP MENU' THEN I'M PRETTY SURE YOU TYPE 'Q' TO QUIT THE HELP MENU TO BRING YOU BACK TO THE COMMAND MENU.
~AT THE CM> PROMPT TYPE 'DATE' AND THERE WILL BE A FOLLOW ALONG GUIDE TO SET THE TIME AND DATE! BE SURE TO READ CAREFULLY SINCE THE HOURS ARE GMT (MILITARY-24HRS)...

HOPE THAT HELPS!

SINCERELY,

Re: How do I set time in the GSP?

I do not think you need to take some action manually. The BMC firmware updates the MP date and time automatially. You can see the event something like below. When the event "SEL Time Set" is logged, MP timestamp should be synced to the system clock.

Log Entry 62: 04 Oct 2006 06:38:40
Alert Level 2: Informational
Keyword: Type-02 c00301 12583681
Time set
Logged by: Baseboard Management Controller;
Sensor: SEL Time Set
Data1: State Asserted
0x20452356F0020590 FFFF0103FDC00300

BTW, how is your MP timestamp wrong? You can copy your last SEL entry page for our refrence.

I'm not sure why it is wrong. It is off by several months - system clock is correct.

Can you copy your event log entries (2 or 3 events) for our reference? I do not know how you can update the MP clock manually.
