How to check the hardware date/time clock from the OS

Does anyone know if there's an HPUX command to check the hardware date & time clock without going down to the MP level on an L3000 (RP5400)?
I dont want the customer to have to bring his server down if it can be done that way.

I think it is one of the options in your GSP/MP:

[goofy] MP> CM
[goofy] MP:CM> DATE

To go to the MP prompt, you do not necessarily take the system down. Just go to the consiole and and hit ctrl-b. You should be able to get MP or GSP prompt while the server is running. And as long as you do not issue an RS command, the system will keep running.

Any reason "date -u" isn't good enough?

date -u will only convert the system time to UTC from what the man page says, I wanted to read it off of the system board, but as long as I can get to it from the MP prompt without a reboot, that works for me.
