Hello All,
Does anyone know how to reset the MP on my
rp4440? Currently when I connect the lan cable
there is no green light on the lan card. The cable has been checked, and it's seems to be ok. From the local console, all seems t oconfigured ok. I did view a "XD" command, but it indicated "destruction". Please advise.
Thanks

Re: How to reset MP
XD command will reset the MP and also can be reset by pushing the reset button at the back of RP4440.
XD : Diagnostics and/or reset of management processor
With this command u can also check the MP health and connectivity status. The following tests are available..
â ¢ MP Parameter Checksum
â ¢ Verify I2C connection (get BMC Device ID)
â ¢ LAN connectivity test using ping
â ¢ Modem self-tests
A MP reset can be safely performed without affecting the operation of the server.
Best Regards,
Prashanth

Re: How to reset MP
For reseting the MP there are two ways,
1.Reset the MP from back of server, There would be reset button, press it for few seconds, You MP will be reset.
2.XD: Diagnostics or reset of MP
This command enables you to perform some simple checks to confirm the MP's health and its connectivity
status. The following tests are available:
->MP Parameter Checksum
->Verify I2C connection (get BMC Device ID)
->LAN connectivity test using ping
->Modem self-tests
You can use the XD command plus its R command option to reset the MP. You can safely perform an MP reset
without affecting the operation of the server.

Re: How to reset MP
I used the "XD -> R", and it still did not work. later I investigated the MP with the
CM -> LS , and the "link state" was set for "10BaseT". I changed this to "auto neg"
and all was ok.
Thanks you all.
