And what's about this command:

It is possible to reset the GSP from remote?

Re: How to reset a service processor on a rp54x0

HI Konrad,

This command can be used to reset the GSP, I did it couple of times defore. It is safe and won't interrupt OS.

Pls also have look:
http://archives.neohapsis.com/archives/hp/2002-q3/0025.html

In an L-Class box, if you open the top cover and then the right hand side cover, you will get access to the GSP card and you can reset the GSP to its default using a switch.

Re: How to reset a service processor on a rp54x0

Hi,

If you have activated your LAN console access you can use all GSP comands, of course, for initial activation of remote console access you need your local console!

Pls find attached a datailed info about GSP commands.

Re: How to reset a service processor on a rp54x0

Hi,
As all says, you can reset your GSP :
- from unix, with the stty command,
- from the inside of the server, with GSP reset button,
- from the GSP Lan Console, with the XD command.

BUT, if you access to the GSP from the Lan Console, of course, Service processor IS responding !! So resetting does not solve your problem !
Look at this thread and you will see that you have to update your GSP firmware, and before, some OS patches :

Olivier.
They say "install windows 2k, xp or better", so i install unix !

Re: How to reset a service processor on a rp54x0

Hi Konrad,

Just a note on this...
If it continues to happen regularly it's an indication that your STM SW version is outdating the GSP version & you need to upgrade the GSP firmware.
This frequently starts following patch installation that upgraded the STM SW suite.

Jeff
