Re: Hp9000 D380 cannot boot

Possible reasons for "stop boot flag"-
do not have minimum amount of good memory,
access port/Serial interface is present but has failed selftest default stable storage failed & cannot init eeprom, EISA subsystem failed - (EISA Controller) failed or is not detected, PDT is disabled and has entries. Given this, there is deallocated(BAD)
memory which could get used.

When replacing CPU card and translating memory SIMMS from the old to the new one, they placed them IN SAME LOCATION...and SIMMs location is different from one processor card(D370) to the new(D390)...
so for this reason systems aborts HP-UX boot process, a simple configuration
mismatch.

Time has a wonderful way of weeding out the trivial

This typically happens when a failure/warning has been dete4cted during POST. Try typing: in wa this will give you a list of issues that had occured during POST.
