Solutionthe DVD rom shall be seen as a Random Access Media only. If that is getting detected this shall be one among the Random Access MEdia only.
Also if the OS Media is loaded in the DVD Rom your search can be narroewd using the
search ipl
this will show the devices that are bootable and have a Valid ISL.

Re: I can't see the DVD Drive from bootable device list
no problems that is an error message that the current search table has been cleared.
you can again give the commands : search ipl
insert the OD Dvd in the DVDROM and give
search ipl --- will scan the system for all the devices that will be having a valid IPL from which the system can boot the OS.
search --- searches all potential boot devices
serach ipl --- will search all potential boot devices which have a valid ISL to boot the system.
have a look at the devices in the search result and the DVDROM shall be along the devices in this result that are listed as Random Access Media.
