I need of PDC 16.9 firmware for r8400 cell board

I need to install another cell board into my rp8400 and I am unfortunately stuck at 16.9. To try to get a change order is next to impossible, though I know it would be better to upgrade my firmware.

Does anyone have a copy of it? It is not available on ftp.itrc.hp.com. At least I couldn't find it.

Hi,

Can you post the SYSREV output for the server. I believe you are running Version 4 or 4.11 of firmware but want to check.

Re: I need of PDC 16.9 firmware for r8400 cell board

Hi,
I think the link supplied above is for version 6.5, and has revision history only as far back as version 5.0.

If you are running PDC 16.009, then I believe you have version 4 or 4.11, which doesn't seem to be available for download (not that i can find it either).

Ideally you would want to upgrade the firmware to the latest version (taking into account any dependencies that there might be), but if you are unable to due to business constraints then I do have PF_CKEYMAT0411.zip.......dependant on your SYSREV output for confirmation.

I guess the link I gave earlier do not have any earlier version of the PDC firmware. The firmware you are asking for will give you following sysrev output :

MP:CM> sysrev
Cabinet FPGA and Firmware revision report
System Backplane : GPM FM OSP
------- ------- -------
1.002 1.002 1.001
PCI Backplane : LPM HS

CELL 2 : 2.002 1.000 1.000 2.002 16.009

Re: I need of PDC 16.9 firmware for r8400 cell board

I can post sysrev, but the problem comes down to the simple fact that they will not let me upgrade the firmware at this time and there is no time in the near future for upgrade.

I would rather upgrade it, but it is not an option. I used to have the firmware, but someone did some house cleaning and decided that the firmware was no longer needed. They didn't clear it with me before doing so.

I figured I would take a long shot and see if anyone new of a place I could find it. I figured I would get the answers I have received.

I just have to go though the steps so I can go back to those above me, and let them know that we have no choice but to upgrade.

It was worth a try.

Thanks everyone.

Try get it from the following link :

ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/superseded_patches/firmware_patches/hp/cpu/

Look for the file PF_CKEYMAT0411.tar.gz
