HP 9000 / D380

The box hangs at boot up at INIT CE7D.

I'd like to see a list of the INIT codes to
figure out what is going on exactly.

This code is unusual one. Here're some questions:
- is there anything more displayed on the LCD?
- did this server work before and if yes, what's changed?
- are there any peripherals attached and if yes, disconnect them;
- if you can get into PDC then try booting off recovery/installation CD to see if it will work.
I suspect that as soon as it's not FLT, but INIT, this means that some device is not able to initizlize. So it could be internalk chassis device, external device or any addon I/O card

There is no aditional message at the LCD.

This is a lab machine dual boot 10.x / 11.x
2 disks. If I disconnect the 2 disks it will
pass this init point. It has been working
but it always acted a bit weird at startup.
Seems it got worse.

Strangely enough the same error ocures when
I hook up only one disk at the time too.
Need to look at that a bit more.

This could be due incorrect termination. Hot swappable disk cage is terminated at the SCSI bus end, but SCSI bus should also be terminated at the controller (as soon as there're no external devices). There's could be a terminator in the external card's connector, OR termination packs.
So please check that either:
- there's a terminator in the card from the back;
- OR terminator packs are installed in UD4, UE4 and UF4 positions.
If there's external terminator make sure term packs are in UC* slots, or simpler, if terminator packs are in UD4, UE4 and UF4 then simply remove terminator from the back.
Please also pay attention to correct installation of terminator packs: chips notches should be located towards internal SCSI connector
