IP Console (KVM) Client Software to Switch through Firewall/VPN
I have got a 3x1x16 HP IP console switch working fine on @ 45 servers through the LAN, I love it, however we would like to be able to run the software from any beach in the world and connect using our VPN. Our VPN server and client(s) configurations allow all ports and IPs on the LAN to go through once authenticated with the VPN server. However the IP console switch software will not find the switch. We have tried IP, broadcast discovery, and even gave it a hostname with a record in our internal DNS server. Is this configuration possible??? Or would we have to put it in the DMZ or right on the Internet and depend on the Switch's built in security? Any ideas would be helpful.
Be Patient, I'm reloading.

Re: IP Console (KVM) Client Software to Switch through Firewall/VPN
Hi!
I am working on the same issue right now!
Using etherreal, I managed to identify 2 ports that are always used by the KVM and the client (2068 and 8192) and a third one that seems to be dynamically assigned.
This one seems to be the problem.
There does not seem to be, however, any broadcasts or UDP, only TCP
I'll keep you updated on the sitation!
