Re: IPL error: bad IPL checksum

Hi,
This indicates boot area on the boot device has gone bad. To checck all valid potential boot devices available use sea ipl command on PDC as:
Main Menu: Enter command > sea IPL

If this lists any other device (Using alternate Path or so) to boot with, try using it.

Re: IPL error: bad IPL checksum

Hi,

It is due to the corrupted LIF area in the BOOTDISK.

Insert the HP Support CD ,

do SEA in BCH/PDC and select the CDROM

boot thru the support CD and select SYSTEM RECOVERY

further you can selct the option to recover the LIF area in bootdisk in the MENU. Try booting after fixing the LIF area. provided the rest of the disk is OK, the system should boot now.

Regards,

Siva.

Re: IPL error: bad IPL checksum

If u have an alternate boot disk (ie mirrored one) then u can try booting with that but u have to give -lq as quorum won't be present as it won't detect the first disk as that doesn't contain valid LVM header so it is a non LVM disk.
