Installing HP-UX 10.20 onto a L3000-5xx

Hi Gurus

I've got a customer who wants to install HP-UX 10.20 onto a L3000-5xx server with PA8600 CPU, Can you guys confirm with what i've found out that the L3000-5xx will only support 64bit O/S with a minium O/S version of HP-UX 11, Or is there a way of installing HP-UX 10.20 onto that server

hi,

you are correct, the L classes are a 64bit server and the earliest supported OS is 11.00 which has the 64bit support.

HPUX 10.20 is only a 32bit OS.

Along with that it wouldnt have the drivers/support for all the newer pci buses and scsi bus.

your customer will have to step back and use a K class or similar

The system is completly 64bits, and is will only run 64bits OS.
