Is it possible to know Console IP ?

Hello All,

Is it possible to know Console IP of my 9000/PA 11.11 ? And what is the default IP for accessing GSP via web ? (Something like, http://my_server:)

Thank you,

Re: Is it possible to know Console IP ?

hi Sea,

from GSP> you can use the command , ls and lc , to check the IP status:

LS : LAN Status
This command displays all parameters and the current status of connections of the GSP LAN. The LAN parameters are not modified by the execution of this command.
=---------------------------------

GSP> lc

LC This command allows you to modify the LAN configuration.
Current configuration:MAC Address : 0x00306e050a63
IP Address : 10.248.254.38
GSP Host Name : myhappygsp
Subnet Mask : 255.255.248.0
Gateway : 10.248.254.1
Web Console Port Number: 2023
Do you want to modify the LAN configuration? (Y/[N]) N

Answer N if no modification is required.

cheers,
Raj.

Re: Is it possible to know Console IP ?

Hi sea Monkey

There isn't any default IP address with GSP console!
You have to connect directly to the GSP console by console cable and setup it.
The command that setup LAN Console is:"LC" command. Just follow the instruction!

Re: Is it possible to know Console IP ?

Hello, Thanks for your replies. I am familiar with GSP commands. Let me tell you the scenario, One of our server was rebooted and its still not coming up. I would like to login to GSP and find out where it stuck. I am sure, right now i can't login since i dont know Console IP. I just wanted a way to find out from a telnet session to get to know Console IP for accessing GSP.

Hope its clear now.

Re: Is it possible to know Console IP ?

Hi SM,

Since you dont know the Console IP, the best result is hook your PC / your notebook to the console port and do the troubleshooting.

On this, you can also get the console IP so you can use this console IP in the future purpose.

If you using Secure Web Console (J3591A), check the url below (docID : KBRC00009417) :

http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000072440256

Hope this information can help you.

Cheers,

Re: Is it possible to know Console IP ?

Hi Sea Monkey,

the default ip address of the Gsp is
default configration for service processor. customer lan ip address : 192.168.1.1

default configuration for service processor private lan ( in the case of superdome )
192.168.2.10
try to telnet to these ip address ( if you are changed these ip , then it will not work )

regards
