K 250

I have problem with DDS2 drive in K 250. Every 2 monts I must replace this drive because it does not work. When I replce it it works with no problems but after some time it has problems it switchs off. I replced peripheral bay too.

Hello,

I understand that your DDS2 is an external one. Where is it connected? What terminator are you using?

DDS is internal

Check these things:
1) Loose cables and connections.
2) Bad termination or cables.
3) Bad media
4) SCSI error on syslog and root mail
5) Patches

1. as Shiju said: SCSI problems;
2. environmental problems (usually dust);
3. cleaning issue - clean DDS drives after every 5 full backups or 20 tape pulling hours
