K-class server unable to configure console

HP9000 K220 server...Getting init C440 with CPU 0...I am in the process of building the server...

I am connecting the console (HP 700/96)from its port 1 to the console connection on the I/O card.
How do you configure the console?
Server will not proceed past this point

HI Robert,

Simplest way is to power the terminal down.
Then hold the "d" key for about 5 seconds as you power it back on.
That will set the factory defaults.

If a mux panel is connected to your server, try connect the terminal to port 0. The HW-path should be 10/4/0.0.

I have already tried to set the console back to the defualt settings...no help

I may have a bad cable to the console...I have already swapped the I/O Card with no luck

The cable uses thesame pin out as a null modem cable............

if you press return, do you get a CM> prompt? If so, enter the 'CO' command to get to the console, and the system should proceed.

How about the port on the core i/O card labeled MDP - is something connected there?
