K380 random reboot

Hi,

I have a K380 which restarted the other day. There are no entries in syslog, or event.log i can find no reason for the restart.

I have started to look at the tombstone file ts99, and have the following entries:
# cd /var/tombstones/
# grep "HPMC Chassis" ts99

Can anyone help me to understand these codes?
Any help at all would be appreciated.

Is there any entry in "/etc/shutdownlog? Is there a crash dump in "/var/adm/crash"?

Chassis codes on K-Class servers mean: 0xcbfb: HPMC happened, 0x5...: I/O or CPU, 0x7... Memory, 0x2... Cache, 0x5y08: Broadcast Error seen by Runway Bus Module with Master ID y, 0xcbfb: branching back to operating system (HPUX performs a system panic then).
It looks like you have I/O or CPU issues. Your hardware support should be contact.

Thanks for the response. We don't have hp support on this box, in fact it is my understanding that it is impossible to get support on the 'k' class hardware from hp.

if it is for business, it has to have some H/W support, not neccessary HP, but there are tons service providers support HP's hardware. You mostly likely have faulty H/W on this K380, which need be replaced, or system will keep reboot. Good Luck.

Looks to me its a memory issue. Could you go to cstm and see free and used Page Deallocation Table (PDT), also if there are any single bit errors?

Hi,

PDT seems ok however there are some IO errors on the scsi not sure how relevant they are. I have attached the cstm log hopefully it will help.
