L 3000 Problem
I have tried to load hpux 11i on an L 3000 and I am encountering a problem.
The server has two 36G drives, 8G memory, 4 550 procs.
The problem is the install freezes at a certain point an will not continue. It gets about 512 files in and stops. It has hung there overnight and will not go any further. Right before it hangs up the fans and the drives spin and then it just stops loading. Anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks, Kevin

Re: L 3000 Problem
You may need to apply the firmware updates before the install is successful........

Re: L 3000 Problem
another thing that might hang the system is having intermixed memory dimms, all memory that is installed in the RP54xx / L class should be any combination of : A5554A 256MB kit, A5797A 512MB kit, A5798A 1GB kit, & A6115A 2GB kits. If you have memory for the Vis workstations, N class, or third party version of, that might be your problem. They look the same but dont play well mixed together.

Re: L 3000 Problem
Hi Kevin,
Along with the firmware level I would also check the date code of the hpux cd's.
When 11i frist came out there was no L3000 server so these ones may not have all the support needed for the hardware. try another later version if you can.
Also check at pdc for warning messages and also in the GSP error logs.
