Re: L1000 booting problem

Hi,
Please let us know the state earlier.
Means was it working fine earlier or Someone made any changes e.g. added a patch or driver of FC or Added any new hardware to the system.
Please try the TOC From GSP and also if something was done to the boot Disk please specify.

Regs,
I'll sleep when i am dead.

Re: L1000 booting problem

It was happend after power-off system
(guaranteed circuit was broken).
Before this moment there was no new patches/firmware/drivers

There is no posibility to check disk
because boot process stops
after error message.

Re: L1000 booting problem

Hi,
The defination for alert level 15 in GSP is FATAL HARDWARE FAILURE.
It could be any hardware failure better log a call with HP so as to diagnose it by test & replace FRU's.
=============================================
Till HP engg arrives Pls check for :
CL : Console Log
SL : error Log
SS : system Status
LS : Lan status
etc.., in GSP so as to try out possibly what might have gone wrong.
=============================================
Good Luck

Re: L1000 booting problem

Hi,
In your 2nd post
what do you mean by (guaranteed circuit was broken)
Was there a short circuit or ...?
Was there a power problem ?
What is the Voltage now ?
Is the earthing OK ?
Do you see or smell any physical damage.
Do you have any other L-Class system around or with you ?
============================================
Can you just try re-inserting the boot disk.

Re: L1000 booting problem

I have a lot of L-class machines, but in my
oppinion probles is not in boot disk because,
system hangs before searching for disk and
trying to boot. In this situation I can't
boot from cdrom or offline diag to perform
some hardware tests.

Re: L1000 booting problem

HI,
=============================================
Pls let me know if you are able to get into the PDC or not. i.e. ISL prompt
=============================================
Please try to check take the HPMC log from the PDC and also the CPU and memory status.
From the PDC if you are able to get into it.
=============================================
What about the power status now ?
IF you are not able to get into the PDC then
I will advise you to swap the hardware and check.
The only hardware suspect to such type of problem is the backplane but we cannot attack it directly unless it is sure that really there was a voltage problem and we just have to confirm other small hardware's first.

I was talking about the boot disk just to confirm your data is existing.

Hope for the Best

Re: L1000 booting problem

Hi,
I am very sorry to say that you have a lot more to go then.
I think you will have to swap and check the Back plane.
Good Luck and all the very Best.

Re: L1000 booting problem

Hi,

decoding this code means:
CC_BOOT_ROM_XSUM_ERR

I am not very certain of the meaning of this error but it would appear to have
something to do with checking the integrity of the boot code in Stable Storage (corruption of PDC FW).

Replace System board.

regards.
