Can someone confirm that there was never a L1000C or D etc...?
Or locate the model number on the Server?
This is one of the first L-boxes shipped.
Thanks in advance...
Bill

SolutionI'm fairly certain that there was never a "C" or "D" model L1000.
I think the A/B designation denotes the GSP level/board type in the system.
That *should* be the proper FW for your system.

Jeff

Re: L1000 server question
There was never a C or D version.
You might also look to upgrade your GSP firmware as well. A CE will have to do this part.

Re: L1000 server question
Go look at the box, get the part number and search for it here:

This will get you the information you need.

Re: L1000 server question
Its down to the P/N printed on your server chassis - the answer is if you have:
A5576A = its the "A" version
A5576B = its the "B" version
The "A" came first and took the 360 & 44MHz CPU's - then the "B" version came along and took the 550MHz - then it went to the RP5400 and from there on in it even more complicated!
Cheers

Re: L1000 server question
Think I have confirmed it is an A or B, and that it is safe for me to install the new firmware.
Regarding the location of the model number.
The only plastic is the front door panel. Where it has HP9000 and L1000 on it. But that is all I have found on either side of the plastic door panel. Nor have I found any other plastic to check out.
This is an very early model of the L1000, wonder if the model tag was over looked?
Is that possible?

Re: L1000 server question
That's possible - the odd engineer could over look something like that - If you look on your HP support contract (an old one will do) you will see one of the P/N's listed above on the agreemnt somewhere - this will answer your question.
Cheers
