L2000 has a fault red light

Hello,

I have a L2000 system that has the red fault light on is there a way i can tell what is the problem as /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log does not tel me what is the problem ...Please ASAP....

Log on to the console

ctrl-b

sl

This will show you the logs. A serious hardware fualt has occurred which may require patching or part replacement.

These hardware problems are loggerd below the level of the OS; you have to examine these logs by using the GSP. At the console, enter and then show logs "sl". You can return to the UNIX console by entering "co" when finished.

ALso how can i change the License from two-user license to unlimited-user license if the OS is already installed is there a way to change that without reinstalling the OS .

I believe you just install something like:
UserLicense.UNL-USER

hi,

if you want to upgrade the user licence, you can do this free of charge

this should be on the apps cd, but it depends upon the version of HPUX running? look for UnlimUserLic bundle

As for the red led on the server this means afatal hardware error?
