LAN adapter not recognized on rp5470

rp5470 here, HP-UX 11iv2 MCOE June 2008 edition.

I got 4 Port 100Base TX LAN Adapter P/N A5506-60102 in slot 11 (Twin Turbo, path 0/10), but can't see it in the operating system.

However I can see the link is up (green light on both switch and rear of the card)

Do I need some special patches to recognize this card or I need to change the slot to some other number?

Re: LAN adapter not recognized on rp5470

slot 11 is h/w path 0/12/0/0.x in a rp5470, but your ioscan shows all slots empty.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

That shows that the LAN side of the card is somewhat linking. But the PCI side of the card may be bad. It does not show up anywhere on the server, not even as unknown. Do you know the whereabouts of this card or if it may be non finctional? Can you try it on another PCI slot or another server?

Re: LAN adapter not recognized on rp5470

What do you suggest?
I also got HP A6847-67101 - 1000 Base-SX Gigabit Ethernet network interface adapter board at 0/10
It seems I don't see it either...

Strange that LAN card link is up (green LED)

Re: LAN adapter not recognized on rp5470

TTr --> is it possible that the entire PCI I/O hardware subsystem in the server can be damaged? GSP core and SCSI/LAN core cards are working though...

Maybe I will try changind the slots to non-Turbo.

I doudt it. Don't misunderstand me but check if the cards are actually inserted in the PCI slots. It is very easy to miss with all those plastic separators between the PCI slots.
