LVD Card for K580 10.20 O/S

Would like to find out whether the card-A5149A Single Port Ultra 2 SCSI LVD can be installed on a HP9000/800/K580 server? Running 10.20 O/S. If not, is there a card for a LVD tape drive ?

Hi Michael,

No, the A5149A is a PCI I/F board & the K-class has no PCI slots - just HSC & HP-PB.

You could look at the following:

28655A Single-ended SCSI-2 and Centronics host adapter board - Includes a 1.0m (3.3ft) SCSI cable - For the HP-PB I/O board slot

That seems to be the only one I could find on partsurfer.

HTH,
Jeff

There are no LVD cards for a K-box. You could probably use an HVD/LVD SCSI Converter. Blackbox makes one.

Paralan
also makes one.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

That's the beauty of an HVD/LVD convertor; your box wouldn't have a clue that the tape drive was not an HVD device.
