Lan Console configuration

Hi administrators.

I have one question for you.
Is possible setup the lan console using SAM, I need setup a new IP address for console GSP.

I can't login to serial console using minicom software, Do you know how setup minicom?

Is a DTE the cable serial?, What's its configuration?

Thanks for your response.

Re: Lan Console configuration

No, you can't set up the lan consolve via SAM. The IP address is set through the GSP interface only.

Re: Lan Console configuration

I don't think you can use SAM for that either. All you need is a laptop or a serial terminal and a serial cable to connect to the MP/GSP and configure it. Once you configure it with an IP then you can connect over the nework (browser or telnet).

Ok. Thanks.
But, Do you have the configuration of the cable?
It is null or crossover?
Is there a documentation?
Thanks

Re: Lan Console configuration

Its not via SAM you need to setup LAN Console IP.

Login to GSP/MP. Connect the serial console cable between your windows PC/Laptop and HP server. Use Hyper terminal to get console screen.

Do the following.

Instead of no, type yes when it ask to change the IP address.

MP login: Admin
MP password:
