Re: MP Battery Low on rp8420 server
if you do not replace the battery then when you power off your server it will lose the settings in the MP
example all the lan settings user accounts and any other configuration.
The battery provides the needed power to hold this info when not in use. A reboot should not affect it as it will still have power to the system going through it. Only a complete power off.
off course you will still get the errors and mails about the issue until resolved

Re: MP Battery Low on rp8420 server
why are you planning not to replace the MP battery or want to delay the replacement of the MP battery?
the MP (GSP) in a partitoned Environment also keeps Complex configuration Profile Data and information.(though there are other locations also that config is kept).
There are chances of loosing the Complex config Data from the MP.
Any pending complex profile changes may also get lost.
Though the MP does not happen to be a SPOF in a Partitioned Complex yet this forms an important part of the Complex.
I would suggest that the Replacement of the MP battery be done at the Earliest following the Procedures of Replacing the MP battery following the Manuals and by an Authorised HP Personnel only though this can be done Online).
