MP SOFT RESET

Hi All,

we have rp8420 cluster environment with HPUX-11.11. From cluster passive node MP, we failed to login to server and CO is not working perfectly though MP other commands are working perfectly, we decide to soft RESET MP with the command XD. Then CO is working properly but VFP showing some strange output as attached. Though there is nothing wrong as both the node is in production environment and working perfectly. Any idea about it or way to resolve it.

Re: MP SOFT RESET

VFP display should get corrected during next boot of the cell/partition. Nothing to worry about it.

Re: MP SOFT RESET

Hi hari,

Is there any other procedure to resolve this issue as this is our post-paid rating server and we are not going to reboot it until any major issue occur.

Re: MP SOFT RESET

Hi Kranti,

No need to worry about the VFP display in MP for the cell state/partition state. It has no impact to the working of system. To monitor the partition you can always use partstatus from OS.

As I mentioned earlier, this display will get corrected only during reset of the npar.

Hari
