MP on rp3410 with incorrect vfp

Folks

the MP on my rp3410 is showing that the system light is flashing red, but in fact the system light is out. I reset the GSP, and read and cleared the Error log.

Incidentally, there is a red light showing on disk 2, but the disk itself seems fine - any ideas what this might signify?

Any help appreciated.

This is a know problem

1. REMOVE ALL disk (internal) from server
2. Unplug TWO (all) power supplay
3. wait for a minute
4. Replace all disk (in ther original slot)
5. Plug PS
6. Start Server form GSP

Thanks Luk - I'll give that a go

Re: MP on rp3410 with incorrect vfp

Hi,

How did u concluded that the disk is ok, In ioscan -fnC disk, is there any disks showing "NO_HW". Identify the disk and use dd command to find any possible bad sectors on the disk. And also check syslog for any disk errors, search for "SCSI" in syslog

It is better to keep an eye on the said disk, as normally when ever there is disk failure the red ldle on the disk will flash.

All Bests

Re: MP on rp3410 with incorrect vfp

Luk's recommendation worked fine - all the false alarms went off after a complete power down and reseat of the disks.

@sunil - the disk showed no errors at all in an ioscan, or in STM. The light was on solid - not flashing. It has gone out since the reboot, but I will keep an eye on it as you suggest.
