Re: MP vs PDC

PDC (processor depended code) is the firmware for RISC based servers, the MP (management processor) is like a small "PC" inside the server used for management.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: MP vs PDC

Hi

pdc ├в processor-dependent code (firmware)

pdc is the firmware that implements all processor-dependent functionality, including initialization and self-test of the processor. Upon completion, it loads and transfers control to the initial system loader (isl(1M)). Firmware behavior varies somewhat, depending on the hardware series as described below.

The management processor is an independent support system for the server. It provides a way for you to connect to a server and perform administration or monitoring tasks for the server hardware.

Re: MP vs PDC

EFI is the firmware interface for Integrity servers.

To "run" EFI, stop the boot process and select EFI from the menu.

Run "help" to get a list of commands.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
