Management Processor Accessing

Sorry for my following stupid questions about MP, but i've any another way to solve my problem because i'm a novice administrator. :(

My first task is install HP-UNIX for my HP 9000- Rp 3410 server.
After read some manual guide for OS installing, i know that i have to login via the MP console interface. But i don't know how .Infact, i don't know how could i interact with my server cause it haven't monitor.How could i connect terminal to it ? What type of console cable i need to do so ? ..etc...

Please help me and show me the way to work out my task. as details as possible.

The default for this system is DHCP for the MP (management processor). The DHCP name is mp+mac address. The mac is printed somewhere on the box.

Another way is to connect a notebook to the serial port (console) and use hyperterminal to access. you have to press CTRL b to access the MP (speed 9600).

BTW, the VGA port is not working. It works only in the Integrity model of this machine.

Regarding the cable: use a null-modem cable.
But you can also try to access it with telnet as mentioned above.

Thanks for your advice but don't you mind if give me some more detail information ?
My question is LOGIN VIA THE MP CONSOLE INTERFACE to install HP-UX OS ?
I know that VGA port doesn't work,but I don't know how to interact with MP. How to connect the display or connect my laptop to the Console port ? To be honest, i don't know a null-modem cable :( . I'm sorry but as i said, this is my first task and i have no experience before :(

It's another server, but the same tasks.

You need to connect the black 1-to-3-connector cable delivered with your system to the 24pin port. Now connect the null modem cable (described in the link above) to the connector labeled with "console" on that cable and to the com port of your laptop. Open hyperterminal, select COM1 and the settings mentioned in the link and connect.

Finally you will see this on your screen:

MP login: Admin
MP password: *****

use Admin/Admin for login.

What is RELECTION 1 ? Above guide (From your link) refers to LAPTOP using REFLECTION 1 ?? My Laptop only have HyperTerminal. Please share that Software for me, ok ?

Reflection is another terminal emulation program. You can use hyperterminal without problems. Make sure you configure vt100 emulation in the properties tab.

Finally, i can connect my computer to HP 9000 rp 3410 server. And now I have to work out the main part of my task is intall HP UX 11.0.I will try.
