Re: Mapping a tape device

Unless you have a tape library that is part of your SAN, then each tape drive will be isolated to a local system. You can find each instance and device by using the 'ioscan -fnkC tape' command. You will need 'root' access to query other systems on your network.
Anyone for a Mutiny ?

Re: Mapping a tape device

Hi,
As Michael says tape devices is always local, it is not possible to "NFS-mount" a tape device.
But with some HP-UX command (for example fbackup and ftio) it is possible to use a remote device. Have a look at the man pages for this caommands.
