Hi Jim,

The very earliest N4000s could only accept 512MB DIMMs IIRC. Then the FW was upgraded to allow 1GB DIMMS. Hence the doubling of RAM capacity.

Ken,

Depending on which O/S, for the MPE/iX systems,
16GB is the maximum limit supported by the operating system.

For HP-UX based systems, 32 GB for the N-4000 and 16GB for the RP-5470.

Just one other thought, compare prices of HP memory to other vendors. Third party paroducts are just as good and can be acquired for a significant savings.
