Can I swap memory from a K580 into a K380?

Re: Memory Configuration - K380/K580

Hi,

yes, according to http://partsurfer.hp.com the partnumbers for memory dimms are the same for both (and more) models.

See the example (64MB DIMM):

http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/main?sel_flg=partinfo&template=main&cpric=us&psrchmode=&partsrch=A2580-69001&submit.x=4&submit.y=3

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

pete,

yes you can, the memory modules are the same for all the K class servers

The only thing you will have to watch out for is that the K380 only supports 1x memory carrier board and the K580 supports 2x memory carrier boards.

This limits the K380 to only 4gb max ram as opposed to 8gb for the K580
