Memory Extenders for HP 9000 L2000-44

Hello,

We are looking at increasing the memory on one of our HP9000 L2000-44 (RP5450). I asked for quotes to increase the memory from 4GB ( four HP PN A5798A) to 8GB and additional four A5798A. A quote I received included PN A6155A (HP svr rp5430 & pr5470 memory extender).

It's been some time since I looked inside the L2000 but I don't recall having memory extenders. None of the L2000-400's we have contain more than four A5798A, so I'm wodering if you need the extender to activate the other 8 system board slots?

Only the L1500 and L3000 has memory extenders.

Hope this helps!

hi dan,

no you do not need the A6155A extenders in the L2000.

You can use all the slots available in the system on the actual system board backplane

Thanks for the responses and confirmation. No memory extender required.
