Re: Model 30 Disk Array BBU failure
the battery backup unit (a battery) will take over if power fails and shut down the array and write all remaining data to the disks. You can see it at the bottom of the backside.
Failure means, the battery is dead and needs to be replaced.
If the battery is failed, the write cache will be disabled - this slows down this slowly box.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Model 30 Disk Array BBU failure
Does anyone know if this is a serviceable part? Can I replace the batteries inside the BBU? I saved a ton of money when I replaced the batteries for the PowerTrust.

Re: Model 30 Disk Array BBU failure
I could imagine that a disk chassis with dual pathes and disk mirroring would be a perfect solution. A single disk would probably have much more space than your galaxy.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
