Modem Connection on Remote Console

I have connected a netcom modem on remote console with baud
rate of 19200, that is through the 3way connector
console/remote/ups connection on a A class server. I can dial
in the modem but it dosen't answer, how can I set it to auto
answer. Has anyone setup a modem on remote console, any help
in this area would be greatful.

Re: Modem Connection on Remote Console

What kind of Remote Console are we talking about?

I would think that if you are able to set an init string for the modem, it should have a value for Auto Answer. Find the correct parameter and value, set it and it should work.

Some modems also have dip switches that you can hard set these things. I am not familiar with the netcom you have so i can not say for sure, but it is something to look into.

Re: Modem Connection on Remote Console

This is connected through the remote port on 3way connector(console/remote/ups)cable.
Also on GSP console I get the following output

Remote Console Serial Port Modem Protocol:CCITT
Remote Console Serial Port Modem bit rate: 19200 bit/s
Remote Console Serial Port Modem Flow Control: Software
Remote Console Serial Port Modem Transmit Configuration String: Disable
Remote Console Serial Port Modem Presence: Always Connected
