Modem config rp5470

Hi Gurus,

I need to configure the multitech modem in rp5470 server. This is for remote admin. The following things are tried.

GSP>
#GSP> CA
Remote Console Serial Port Modem Protocol: BELL
Remote Console Serial Port Modem bit rate: 19200 bits/s
Remote Console Serial Port Modem Flow Control: Software
Remote Console Serial Port Modem Transmit Configuration Strings: Disabled.

Thro SAM, modem has been configured in port no 2. Checked for getty, running.
Modem connected in the asio serial card remote port. The device file is /dev/tty0p2, /dev/cua0p2, /dev/cul0p2.

In modem TR LED is glowing while powerd on.

Now I treid from my laptop to the number connected to modem . I am not getting any login screen. Nothing coming after connect in the screen. Please help me solve the issue.

Regards
Sundar

Re: Modem config rp5470

Sundar: search the itrc hp-ux forum for gsp modem. You will find many helpful posts, and probably some answers. Here is one that has an attachment full of useful info that you may need:

Other useful and relevant posts abound, so do the search and good luck.

Re: Modem config rp5470

Hi,

You can change the remote session to GSP using "er" command from GSP . This case any user dialing in would reach GSP prompt. Make sure you are setting GSP password since it could be a major security issue.

Other settings required would be 19200
Protocol should be CIIFS ( dont remember exactly , something starts with CIxxx)

Flow control - Hardware

Remote Console Serial Port Modem Protocol: CCIT
Remote Console Serial Port Modem bit rate: 9600 bits/s
Remote Console Serial Port Modem Flow Control: None
Remote Console Serial Port Modem Transmit Configuration Strings: Disabled.
