Montecito - New release of systems

Hi,
We are exploring different options for our SAP setup with HP servers.
We have heard that the latest Montecito processor servers are going to be released by the end of this month.

We are thinking of evaluating the Montecito also.
Need some information on tpmC and SAPS ratings for the same.
Heard that some mid range system is going to give around 8,00,000 or more on tpmC.
Can anyone help me with this info ?
This will be very critical in selecting the options as soon as possible.
We need to finalize very soon.
Looking forward to valuable inputs.

Some documents like this

http://docs.hp.com/en/supportmatrixEthernetver2.pdf/supportmatrixEthernetver2.pdf

and this

http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-5311/ch02s03.html

already mention about an rx3600 and rx6600 server.

I think you should ask your hp sales contact for more information.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Montecito - New release of systems

Did you mean 800000 tpmC? Anyway, given the TPC-C run and reporting rules, public disclosure of tpmC for a system can only happen if there is a disclosure on www.tpc.org, so I doubt anything anyone can say here or point to here will have tpmC numbers.

For an idea of an unannounced system's OLTP performance you will need to speak with a sales person under NDA.

I suspect the same may hold true for SAP benchmarking.

You may also want to make a distinction between "released" which implies "shipping" and "announced."

Finally, the Montecitos will be going into Integrity servers not the 9000's - the 9000's are PA-RISC only :)

Re: Montecito - New release of systems

I did not get the correct picture.
Anyway as IBM and SUN are also approaching us we are thinking of evaluating all the 3 vendors unless I get some correct information on HP Montecito from HP.
Maybe someone may help HP by answering me here as we are keen on HP, but at the same time we need to keep our business running with the most efficient system.

Re: Montecito - New release of systems

I'm sure many people would very much like to provide you with performance numbers for HP Integrity systems with Intel Montecito processors, but since those systems are unannounced and unreleased, it is all NDA stuff and so cannot be discussed here.
